Leadership Navigator® for Corporate Leaders

3D Group’s Leadership Navigator for Corporate Leaders is a managerial 360™ feedback instrument that measures the most relevant leadership skills valued by today’s organizations. Based on extensive research and validation, this process provides your mid-level leaders with feedback covering relationships with colleagues, managing direct reports, completing projects, and other areas common to a typical managerial role. Ratings are provided by the manager and requested from his or her peers, boss, and direct reports.

The Corporate Leader survey provides in-depth feedback on a manager’s workplace behavior based on eight competencies:

Interpersonal Competencies

  • Developing Talent - Coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and developing direct reports and colleagues.
  • Inclusiveness - Valuing diversity, considering the opinions of others, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Team Leadership - Ensuring his or her team has clear expectations, proper resources, and is working well together.

Base Competencies

  • Integrity - Consistency between actions and words, keeping commitments, admitting mistakes.
  • Communication - Speaking clearly, sharing information, listening attentively, and using appropriate language for a situation.

Work Process Competencies

  • Business Focus - Understanding an organization’s business, markets, and strategy.
  • Customer Focus - Ensuring responsiveness and service to internal and/or external customers and partners.
  • Results Orientation - Delegating and scheduling work, following up, being proactive, and ensuring completion of relevant tasks and projects.

Survey

3D Group's Leadership Navigator for Corporate Leaders survey may be completed on-line or in paper format. Survey questions are clear, behavioral, and contain a minimum of jargon and esoteric terminology. Participants use a 5-point numeric scale to rate managers on 50 standard questions and provide open-ended comments related specifically to both observed performance strengths as well as development needs. On average, raters complete the survey in 8 minutes.

Report

The Leadership Navigator for Corporate Leaders report is comprised of four sections that provide the Manager with clear and complete feedback for leveraging strengths and planning for development. Individual feedback reports can be delivered in .pdf format or color printed and bound.

  • Overview - an overall comparison of competency scores with national norms for each competency.
  • Competency Definitions - describes each competency and illustrates the overall competency model.
  • Competency Breakout Pages - overall ratings from each rater group.
  • Strengths and Development Needs - the ten highest-rated behaviors as well as the 10 lowest-rated behaviors.
  • Narrative Comments - verbatim comments on both strengths and development needs.

Development Planning

The Leadership Navigator for Corporate Leaders report is delivered in color with a copy of the 3D Group Workbook for Understanding Your Report, which provides the leader with a series of exercises designed for interpretation of the report and planning development. Other development options include one-on-one feedback facilitation and a detailed leadership competency resource guidebook.
