Leadership Navigator® for Individual Contributors

Individual Contributors can benefit from 360-degree feedback as much as a manager or executive. Technical professionals, internal consultants, IT staff, researchers, and other employees with few or no direct reports face unique challenges and opportunities for skill development and growth. Moreover, many of these key professionals are already providing technical and project direction to colleagues throughout your organization, and some may seek promotion to formal leadership roles in the future. 3D Group’s Leadership Navigator for Individual Contributors allows you to provide comprehensive feedback to these key professionals.

The Leadership Navigator for Individual Contributors provides for in-depth feedback on an employee’s behavior based on eight workplace competencies:

  • Understands the Business - Knowing the organization’s industry, market, customers, and strategy.
  • Self Development - Pursuing learning and skill development opportunities, receiving and providing feedback.
  • Inclusiveness - Valuing diversity, considering the opinions of others, and contributing to an inclusive work environment.
  • Integrity - Behaving in an ethical manner, not playing favorites.
  • Planning & Organizing - Planning work, solving problems, and completing relevant tasks and projects.
  • Customer Orientation - Ensuring attentive service to internal and external customers.
  • Teamwork - Assisting co-workers when appropriate, working well with the team.
  • Communication Skills - Speaking clearly, sharing information, listening attentively, and using appropriate language for a situation.

Survey

3D Group's Leadership Navigator for Individual Contributors survey may be completed on-line or on paper. Survey questions are clear, behavioral, and contain a minimum of jargon and esoteric terminology. Participants use a 5-point numeric scale to rate individual contributors on 41 standard questions and provide open-ended comments related specifically to both observed performance strengths as well as development needs. Surveys take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Report & Development Planning

The Leadership Navigator for Individual Contributors report is comprised of four sections that provide the Individual Contributor with concise, clear and complete feedback for leveraging strengths and planning for development.

  • Overview - an overall comparison of competency scores with national norms for each competency.
  • Competency Breakout Pages - overall ratings from each rater group.
  • Strengths and Development Needs - the 10 highest-rated behaviors as well as the 10 lowest-rated behaviors.
  • Narrative Comments - verbatim comments on both strengths and development needs.

The feedback report is delivered in color with the 3D Group Workbook for Understanding Your Report, which provides the employee with a series of exercises designed for interpretation of the feedback and planning development. For maximum impact, choose one-on-one coaching or a group feedback workshop. We can even train your staff to provide coaching or workshop facilitation.
