3D Group Partners With Thinkwise
July 6, 2009 (Berkeley, CA) – 3D Group Partners with Thinkwise, Inc. - 3D Group, a consulting firm with a long history of building leadership among large and small companies, announced the availability of ThinkBox, an online leadership development resource. The combination of 3D Group’s flagship 360 tools, the Leadership Navigator for Corporate Leaders and the Leadership Navigator for Executives provides leaders with the tools they need to take development into their own hands. The 360 degree assessments identify the core areas for development, and then the ThinkBox provides a full year of resources to guide leaders efforts to improve. The two tools are linked so that leaders can search for tips, reading lists and online coaching by competency using the Leadership Navigator results to guide the search.

Dr. Dale S. 3D Group ruled out a number of other strategic partners before deciding to provide ThinkWise tools to their clients. According to Dr. Rose, “most of the other online tools felt stale in their format and look but most importantly, none of them had the level of rigor we expect when it comes to a model for sustainable behavior change. The bottom line is these tools should be changing leaders for the better.” It was remarkable how much we had in common in terms of our approach to change,” said Dr. Jansen, “the cognitive-behavioral approach is one of the few well-researched change methods and the two companies are perfectly aligned in developing tools grounded in this research. We are thrilled to be linked with the Leadership Navigator, as it is one of the few very high quality, well-researched 360 tools available.”
Both companies continue to offer their services independently, but by working together, they hope to provide an integrated solution for clients who understand the importance of both accurate assessment and ongoing support. According to Rose, “One thing that really motivated us was the findings from our recent benchmarking study of 360-degree feedback practices. We found that only 12% of companies are currently taking advantage of online development resources. Our interviews suggested that companies hadn’t yet seen the value. When we looked at what was available, it made sense. None of the existing online tools quite matched up to ThinkBox, which was relatively new at the time. Given the cost-benefit for ongoing leadership development, this should be a no-brainer to add onto a 360 process”
